As 2020 draws to an end, I have heard a number of people say they can't wait for it to end. This is understandable with so much illness and suffering from the pandemic and such pain in the reality of racial injustice in our country. And, then there are also the many ways, big and small, that each of our lives has been affected, both by these larger realities and by the experiences unique to each of us. As I have written about in other newsletters, in the midst of such unknown it is a challenging time to plan and make decisions. Are you emotionally ready to reflect on the year and process it? If not, allow yourself the time you need to get there.
If you are ready, the ending of a year, and the beginning of a new one, is an opportunity to reflect, take stock, and think about the future (even if it is still hard to make big plans). Like last year, I have created a tool to help you reflect on the year and think ahead. I revised it significantly to fit this one-of-a-kind year and time we are living in now. I offer you access to it for free and encourage you to challenge yourself as you complete the steps. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
This newsletter comes to you with the understanding that each of you are in your own mental space, with your life and health, with family, and with your work. So, use this information and reflection, in whatever way works best for you.
Here's hoping you give yourself the space you need to rest and restore during this holiday time and wishing you a healthy and hopeful 2021.
